IMME BECAS is an initiative of the Consulate General of México in Dallas dedicated to supporting college and university students in North Texas. We would greatly appreciate your support to increase IMME BECAS / HACEMOS North Texas program.
2026 IMME Becas / HACEMOS NTX Scholarship Program

The IMME Becas / HACEMOS NTX Scholarship program will open in July 2026.
Please check again in July for the opening and closing dates – we will announce the dates as soon as possible.
The IMME Becas / HACEMOS NTX Scholarship Program is designed to assist students pursuing a postsecondary education in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Recipients attending a two-year institution receive $1,000. Recipients attending a four-year institution receive $2,000.*
The recipient selection process includes the consideration of academic performance, financial need, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances.
Applicants must meet all the following criteria:
- Currently reside in a North Texas county:
- Dallas Counties – Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman and Rockwall
- Fort Worth Counties – Hood, Johnson, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant and Wise
- Must be 25 years of age or younger as of the application deadline
- Must be a high school graduate, currently enrolled undergraduate, or currently enrolled graduate school or master’s degree student
- Plan to enroll in an undergraduate, graduate, or master’s course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college/university located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex
- Plan to enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester in coursework for undergraduate or at least 9 credit hours per semester for graduate or master’s leading to a degree
- Have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Gather ALL required materials:
- Copy of OFFICIAL school transcript.
- Must have a school seal and/or school signature to be considered an official transcript
- Transcripts marked “unofficial”, “student copy”, or other unofficial indicator will not be considered
- Two (2) recommendation letters (Academic or Professional)
- Copy of ID or other record with proof of DFW address to validate eligibility
- YouTube video created based on the requirements given on the application
- Video visibility can either be Public or Unlisted; do NOT set the video as Private or we will not be able to review
If you are not able to upload your official transcript or recommendation letters, please select the corresponding option in the form and have documents emailed to submissions@hacemosimebecas-dfw.org. All documents must be received BEFORE the scholarship deadline for your application to be reviewed.
* Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are payable to the institution recipient enrolls for the current school years.

I want to thank the Dallas Mexican consulate, the Instituto do los Mexicanos, and the HACEMOS DFW Chapter for giving me the opportunity to receive this scholarship. As a first-generation student at the University of North Texas, I want to alleviate the financial burden of college for my family as much as I can. I will continue doing my best at Dallas College as I prepare for transfer.
When I received the IME – HACEMOS DFW Scholarship, I felt blessed and relieved to have such a large amount of burden off my shoulders. As a Fashion Merchandising senior at Texas Woman’s University, I feel that it would encourage me even further to pursue this career and represent my people well in spaces that aren’t so welcoming to us. Not only will this bring me joy, but it will bring my family joy to know that we are here, taking up space where we deserve; I know that in my heart, I can feel my ancestors lifting me up with this grand accomplishment. I am deeply grateful to the Dallas Mexican Consulate, the Instituto de los Mexicanos/Mexicanas en el Exterior (IMME), and the HACEMOS DFW Chapter for selecting me as a recipient of the IME Becas HACEMOS DFW Scholarship. This award will allow me to pursue my dream of obtaining a Mechanical Engineering degree at The University of Texas at Arlington with less financial burden, helping me focus on my studies and participate fully in research, internships, and student organizations.
